Our 3 day camp features 6 riding sessions, poles, jumping, hacking (where abilities permit),dressage, Groundwork, Mounted Games and pony care. The camp Starts with a Day of show jumping Including two entries into the competition in the arena on the Friday Evening and an Entries to the Dressage competition on the Sunday.
These camps sell out every year, so please book ahead if you would like to take part.
Summer Pony Camp Schedule at The Orchard equestrian Centre 2024
Friday 26th July -9.15am start.
8am – Arrival & set up camp for the weekend.
9am – Care for your pony.
9.45am- Group Show jumping lesson.
10.45 am - Bath & Prepare ponies for the evening’s competition.
12am – Afternoon Tea.
1pm- Set up Full showjumping course & Course walk.
2pm – Show prep/ Plaiting up.
3pm- Clean & Prepare tack for competition learning about the different tack used for showjumping.
4pm – BREAK
4.30pm – Quick groom & tack up
5pm – 8pm Showjumping competition
(Includes Hot dogs etc for dinner)
8pm – Horsey quiz & games on foot with a Hot chocolate.
10pm Lights out.
Saturday 27th July
8-am Wake up & Breakfast.
9am – Care for pony.
10am – Dressage Test riding for Sunday’s competition.
12am – Afternoon Tea.
1pm – Horse Fitness Talk & the scales of Training.
2pm- Hack out.
3pm – Nutrition & Diet talk.
4pm – BBQ
5pm – Groundwork session.
6pm – Mounted Games.
7.30pm – Clean tack for dressage competition in the morning.
8.30pm Horsey Film night & Popcorn.
10.30pm – Lights out.
Sunday 28th July
8am- Wake up & breakfast.
9am- Prepare Ponies for Dressage competition.
10am- Dressage Competition.
1pm – Afternoon tea.
2pm – Groundwork Training.
3pm – Groom /wash off ponies , turn them back out & Feed.
4pm- Home time
Camp essentials checklist:
• Tent / Airbed & Bedding or sleeping bag.
• Competition wear (Not compulsory).
• Clothing for two days.
• Pyjamas.
• Toiletries.
• Any special dietary requirements.
• Any allergies to be disclosed and campers will require an Epi pen.
• Any medications to be declared.
