Suitable Clothing Requirements

A riding hat is essential; Anyone wishing to use their own helmet can do so provided it complies with the current safety standards. We can provide you with a riding helmet which complies with the latest standards at a hire/cleaning charge of £2 per session.

We ask riders to ensure they always wear full length trousers/leggings; strong supportive boots with a low block 1’’ heel. Suitable clothing depending on weather conditions e.g. warm clothing for winter. Sorry no skirts or shorts to be worn.

Anyone wearing trainers sandals will not be permitted to ride, entrance on the yard or near the horses for health and safety reasons.

Equipment & Safety

All riders are required to wear: A riding hat.

This can be your own riding hat or you can hire one from the stable yard office. A senior member of staff will assist you in fitting your hat. Hats must be to the latest standards and if you wish to purchase your own hat we strongly recommend you only purchase a latest standard and have this fitted by a qualified person.

Once your own hat has been checked by a staff member we will place a tag on your hat to show your hat has been checked and is to the correct standard.

Appropriate foot wear; boots or wellingtons- something with a slight heel (roughly 1.5’’), trainers and boots with large treads to the sole are unsuitable for riding in.
